Bio 2024
Houston based visual artist Laurie Humble, best known for her realist watercolors highlighting unusual vantage points, has spent the past few years exploring new mediums and ideas. Her evolution into more surreal work has allowed her to introduce mixed media to extend her the range of her subject matter.
Her works in both watercolor and oil are included in private and permanent collections across the country and have garnered awards in numerous National and International Exhibitions. Her work has appeared on the cover and been the subject of a feature articles in American Artist Magazine and Watercolor Artist. It has been included in Southwest Art, International Artist, the book Splash 10, and many others. She has produced five instructional DVD's, three with Art Academy Live and a two-DVD series, Secrets in Watercolor, with Artists Network TV. Laurie's first book, Watercolor Depth and Realism, was published by North Light Books 2008. Laurie has shared her love of through speaking, serving as a show juror and art teaching adult workshop and classes across the country.
Her latest body of work includes figurative, and wildlife works on paper, canvas and bronze sculpture. She is currently concentrating on her latest collection, Smoke and Mirrors, and commission work.
